1. Who we are

Bloombee ("we", "us", "our") is a garden planning tool operated by Steinn, registered in the Netherlands (Chamber of Commerce number: on request). We are the data controller for your personal data. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal data when you use our website and application at bloombee.app. Contact: info@steinn.co.

2. Data we collect

We collect the following data:

• Account data: When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
• Garden data: The garden plans you create, including plot boundaries, plant placements, and location coordinates you enter.
• Location data: The address or coordinates you enter to position your garden on the map. We do not access your device's GPS location.
• Usage data: Analytics such as page views and feature usage to improve the service, collected via PostHog. When you are signed in, your user ID may be linked to this data.

3. How we use your data

• To provide and maintain the garden planning service
• To save and sync your garden plans across devices
• To show relevant weather data and gardening advice for your location
• To improve our service and fix issues

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. Legal basis

We process your data on the following legal bases (GDPR Art. 6):

• Performance of contract: Account data, garden data, and location data to provide the service.
• Consent: Analytics cookies (PostHog) are only placed after your explicit consent via the cookie banner.
• Legitimate interest: Technical error tracking and securing the service.

5. Third-party services

We use the following third-party services:

• Convex: Cloud database to store your garden data. Convex Privacy Policy
• Google Sign-In: For authentication. Google Privacy Policy
• OpenStreetMap / Nominatim: For address search and map tiles. OSM Privacy Policy
• Open-Meteo: For weather data. Open-Meteo Terms
• Mapbox: For satellite imagery and map tiles. Mapbox Privacy Policy
• PostHog: For product analytics and error tracking. Data is stored in the EU. Only loaded after your consent. PostHog Privacy Policy

6. International transfers

Some of our service providers (Convex, Google, Mapbox) are based in the United States. Data transfers outside the EEA are conducted under Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or an adequacy decision by the European Commission. PostHog data is stored in the EU.

7. Data storage and security

Your garden data is stored securely on Convex's cloud infrastructure. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS). We implement reasonable security measures to protect your data, but no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

8. Data retention

We retain your data as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your garden data and account data are removed within 30 days. Analytics data in PostHog is automatically deleted after 12 months.

9. Your rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Correct inaccurate personal data
• Request deletion of your personal data
• Export your data in a portable format
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Withdraw your consent for analytics cookies at any time (clear your cookies or use your browser settings)

10. Cookies

We use essential cookies for authentication and keeping you signed in. Analytics cookies (PostHog) are only placed after your explicit consent via the cookie banner. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing your cookies. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.

11. Children's privacy

Bloombee is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "last updated" date.
